Linksys New Wi-Fi VoIP Phone - WIP300

Linksys is launching another VoIP phone. Smaller to the beefier EIP300, the WIP300 will link up to any Wi-Fi connection (802.11b/g) through SIP v2.

However, though by the vibes associated with it suggests that it would couple perfectly with Vonage, it won’t be so friendly with its competitor Skype.

All the standard security measures such as 128-bit WEP, WPA and WPA2 have been integrated into the WIP300. Furthermore, you can access your POP3/SMTP mails, as well as send and receive SMSs.

Other features include:

  • 16MB flash memory
  • 1.8-inch color screen
  • USB recharging

On top of it, some audio enhancement features, like echo cancellation is also incorporated in it.
This phone – the WIP300 is now available only through pre-order. It is slated to hit the shelves on Feb 16 and would cost USD 250 a piece.
